I believe that everyone is good at something, The more you do something the better you become at it, thereby making it your skill. The better the skill the more it becomes an art form. You may be the only person who enjoys the art form created, but nevertheless it is your art. Get really good at the skill and someone in the world will pay you for it.
Combining painting with a courage-enhancing beverage has enticed many to try local paint and sip event. This has also sparked several closet artist in to becoming repeat visitors at these events. Their next visit usual increases with bringing along a few friends. After releasing the fear of getting it wrong or making a mistake, it amazes so many first-timers to the brush, on how relaxing painting can be. Most paint and sip events are two hours long with small breaks in between. In keeping with the time-frame, instructors must insure those lagging behind, they could catch up. Lagging behind doesn't necessarily mean the painter doesn't understand. What I have found is the beginner paint becomes hypnotized by the movement of their brush on canvas which I call Creative Hypnosis. It is important for instructors to gauge when to move on to the next step of instructions. By the end of the class the beginner painter have created their first art on canvas.
